Many leaders strive for results and lay down a load of principles they try to follow and ask of their team to do the same. However, they often fall short of their desired objective because there have too many principles for anyone to remember.
I recently read about Microsofts’ leadership principles. There are only three. They are simple and to the point. The point is that principles are only really effective if employees are thinking about them, saying them to themselves, discussing them in conversation with colleagues and bringing them up regularly in meetings. The key is to have principles that are easy to remember and resonate with those trying to live by them.
So here are Microsoft’s principles.
“Clarity,” “energy,” and “success”.
Simple, memorable and meaningful.
What are your leadership principles?
